McCoy Hill are Damp proofing specialists, our Damp proof systems treat:-
Caused by water penetration, rising through capillary action in the porous material of which most walls are constructed.
This is dampness that seeps through walls from the surrounding earth or by rainwater penetration. See dry rot to find out more
This occurs when water vapour in the air condenses. It is caused by a combination of construction and the living habits.
Defective Roofing, rainwater goods, rendering, pointing, joinery, timber, can all be potential sources of water ingress.
All forms of fungal decay are associated with a high moisture content in timber. Defective plumbing and appliances, including dishwashers, washing machines, showers etc., are frequently found to be the source of moisture leading to dry and wet rot decay.
The installation of a Damp Proof Course is designed to combat rising damp by creating a continuous barrier throughout the length and width of the wall to reduce water and moisture ingress. Methods of damp proofing treatments used by McCoy-Hill Ltd are:-
Silicone Injection Damp Proof Course
Fluid is injected under pressure, having the effect of reversing the meniscus in porous masonry. Once inserted this prevents moisture from rising in the capillaries, creating a new damp proof course.
Injection Cream Damp Proof Course
McCoy Hill Injection Cream No. 1 uses the very latest technology which utilises a concentrated emulsion cream for the control of rising damp. The cream is delivered by hand pressure only and migrates rapidly into masonry pores.
This is our own product with a British Board of Agrément certificate No. 07/4423.
Electro-Osmosis Damp Proof Course
Electro-osmosis has particular advantages in stone walls and walls of greater thickness. The system introduces a very small and perfectly safe electrical current into the wall just above ground level.
Mortar Injection Damp Proof Course
Using a special formulated dry mix of cement, quarz and reactive chemicals. Once mixed with water, the chemicals released react to form a crystalline growth, which penetrates and blocks capillaries within the mortar
Condensation
McCoy Hill are suppliers of a large range of dehumidifiers and condensation control units. Following diagnosis our surveyor will specify the correct solution to control the affects of condensation.
